East Bay/San Francisco

Mission
To provide local professional development, peer support, advocacy, and resource-sharing opportunities to school social workers and to develop CASSW membership in the North/East Bay/San Francisco region.

History
The North/East Bay/San Francisco region began to develop a local presence in the fall of 2008 when local school social workers organized the annual CASSW conference in Oakland, CA. Since 2010-2011, school social workers have met locally for ongoing professional development, peer support, and organizing for the profession and client needs.

BASSW (Bay Area School Social Workers) currently covers the north bay region, including the following counties: Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, Napa, San Francisco, San Mateo, Santa Rosa, Solano, and Sonoma. This area may change as other local groups strengthen in numbers.
